Another Loss & More Small Victories

Monday marked 2 months post-op and I have never felt better.  Small victories keep popping up making me realize how far I have come. Like on Monday I had to pull the van seat up again because I was having difficulties reaching the pedals. Then that evening I went to the movies for the first time since before surgery and I was very very pleasantly surprised.  I was able to sit and watch the entire movie without having to have the arms of the seat up. First time in YEARS and YEARS I was so excited!!

Last evening was TOPS and I lost another 3lbs bringing me down 49.2lbs in total! I know weigh 315lbs!!

I also too my measurements at TOPS on Tuesday and like the results so far :D

Slumber Party & Walking

Last evening I went to a Spa Slumber Party at the Cambridge Suites with my friend Lisa and 5 children. It was a fun night that started with a 1Km walk around Sydney to get the kids supper at Kenny's Pizza and then to Lawtons to get Orange Juice for some smoothies.  I was very surprised with myself because I was able to walk that 1Km without an issue ... including the hills :-D

No Adjustment Just Yet :D

Well I have been contemplating whether or not I would need a band adjustment the last week or so. After losing one pound last week I was worried that I was starting to plateau. I have started to crave sweets most evenings, not that I have eaten any, but the plane fact that I was thinking about it scared me because I have gone so long without even thinking about them.

Now for those of you that know me I bake constantly so I am not sure if the craving is in my head or my stomach. I don't know if I'm craving the sweets because I'm baking them and they are in the house or because I really am craving sweets. So that has made me think more and more about whether an adjustment is needed, when it will be needed, what it will change once I do get one, and so on and so on.

However, I then went to TOPS on Tuesday and was down another 2.8lbs. I was pleasantly surprised with that and more so with the fact that I am now below 320lbs.

I weighed in at 318.2lbs

I am still thinking constantly about the band adjustment, however, I am happy to know that I am still able to lose weight without it for the time being.  I am Walking between 15 and 30 minutes a day on the treadmill, as well as cleaning the house constantly, baking, playing darts once a week and as always planning/watching every bite of food that goes in my mouth/stomach!!

Still going down!

Weighed in last evening at 321 lbs ... that's a 0.8lb loss bringing my total for weight loss to 43.4lbs

I was my own sabetour this weekend though which is why the weight loss is so little.  I baked for Christmas and was sampling which I'm sure added tons and tons of calories that weren't added to my MyFitnessPal account.  I also didn't eat at appropriate times through-out the day and although I would never admit this to my husband ... he was right ... it kind of bit me in the ass.

For anyone who says having the Lap-Band will make weight just fall off you they were sadly mistaken.  It takes a LOT of work to lose the weight and even small slip-ups can take you back even if just a little.

Now that we have the treadmill in the house I hope that I will think twice about what I prepare for a meal because if I pick something incorrectly I will have to add time to my walking LOL

I am so close to being OUT of the 320's forever I can feel it!

I'm trying to make better choices in food and this morning this is my breakfast:

1 slice of Whole Wheat Toast
1/4 cup egg beaters with 1Tbsp Cheese Wiz (cooked in the microwave)
2 slices of Ready Crisp Bacon
1/2 cup milk

I hope to be able to continue eating this way without slipping up again.

1X and 2X Shirts that FIT

Our staff Christmas Party is November 30th and after going through my closet with a fine toothed comb I couldn't find ANYTHING I wanted to wear. So I convinced Colin to go to Penningtons with me. I truthfully was afraid to go because I didn't know what size would fit and I didn't want to get discouraged.  I didn't only need a nice shirt/top/blouse or something for the Christmas Party but I also needed a belt because my jeans don't stay up for very long LOL So off we went!

I picked up a number of items as I went around the store in a couple of sizes (4Xs, 3Xs) and off to the dressing room I went. I tried on the 4xs in most items first ans they were all WAY too large for me. Then I tried on the 3Xs but they also felts very large. So I went back out to the floor and picked up a 2X in one of the tops I really loved and tried it on ... but the sales lady said even that was too big for me and that if I wanted it to last any length of time I should go for the 1X. I couldn't get over it.

I am now in a 1X for some shirts!!

New Treadmill

So excited to have my new treadmill in my house. We ordered it from Sears on Oct 10th and didn't receive it till Nov 9th ... it felt a whole lot longer than one month but its finally here.

Colin spent Friday evening putting it together but I didn't get near it till Sunday. I went down and walked on it for 20 minutes at a speed of 2.2 Its a nice leisurely walk but then every 5 minutes I decided to bump it up to a speed of 3 and ran for 30 seconds. Yes I said ran ... its something I have not done since I was between 12 and 15 years old.

I was shocked I could even do it.  Its not something I will do every time I'm on the treadmill right now, I just wanted to see if it was possible.  I was so excited!

Today I will go out and pick up a heart rate monitor. I hope to get one that will help me figure out what my at rest heart rate is and then I will know what I should be at to burn more fat!

Part of my new in home gym ... We have a treadmill, a weight bench, 2 bikes (one recumbent and one regular) and a punching dummy ... I hope to be able to use all these things soon but for now I will stick with the treadmill!

Down ... Down ... Down!!!

Down again at TOPS Last evening ... lost 3.2lbs this week bringing my total for weight loss to 42.2lbs!!!

Almost out of the 320's!!!

I decided that at 40lbs lost I would take more pictures to compare so below are those pictures. I don't see as much of a difference in the pictures as I feel it.

Energy, Energy, Energy!!!

This is definitely something new for me since the weight has started to come off.  I used to start my day around 5:30am and by 8:30pm I was having to hold my eyes open with toothpicks just to make it to 9;00pm.  Now I notice that I am still wide awake going to bed and only put my head on the pillow because I know I need at least 6-7 hours of sleep for the next work day.  I have always been and early riser but a night owl, without a nap, was unheard of.

I also notice that during my waking hours I am able to get a lot more done around the house.  I have taken on more and more cake orders the past few weeks.  I have been able to reorganize my house and am starting to redecorate/renovate.

Yesterday for example this was my day (even though I did wake up late)

Breakfast
Iced a cake
Made marshmallow pops
Cleaned the bathroom
Lunch
Iced another cake
Made rice krispie squares
Cleaned the kitchen
Did dishes
Swept the floors
Then finally relaxed for the evening.

I am impressed with myself even though some people don't think that is a lot to do in a day.  On a Saturday before I lost this weight I would have only been able to do 1/2 of these things and would need a nap somewhere in between before calling it a night at 8:30pm

I hope this continues for me and I am able to do more and more in my day.
